Tis’ The Season To Give

tistheseasoneforgiving

The holiday season is truly upon us.  It’s the time of year to give — whether you’re giving gifts to friends and family, donating to complete strangers, or giving yourself a break – the nature of giving is somehow, somewhere within us all.  It doesn’t matter what type of celebration we may be observing this holiday season there is usually some type of gift giving involved. We give gifts to family; we give gifts to friends; we donate to charities; and many people also offer up time, items, and energy to serve those in need. Gifts of any kind to another individual is a social bonding ritual.  We know the warm, fuzzy feeling inside of us when someone does something nice unexpectedly or out-of-the-blue that instantly makes us connected and a part of one another lives.  This connection erases skin colour, puts differences aside, and allows us to see each other as living, breathing human beings upon the same earth.

People come up with many creative and interesting ways to give gifts as well.  Donating time at a soup kitchen, organizing a toy drive, saving an allowance for months to purchase the perfect gift, helping to prepare and serve a meal at a local shelter, donating spare change to the Salvation Army . . . the list could go on and on.

A few weeks ago we received an email which told us of yet another great way to give and receive during the holiday season.

IMG_1810Hi,

In past years we have always made a donation at Christmas time in lieu of gifts on behalf of some of our relatives that live in both Alberta and Saskatchewan.  This year we would like to make that donation to the Chase Kraynick spray park.  Would it be possible for us to get a few of Chase’s Pay It Forward Cards to put in the Christmas Card explaining the donation gift?  Thank-you!

Sincerely,

Kyla and Kelly Adams – Regina, SK

After wiping our eyes and once again realizing how wide-spread and powerful Chase’s story had become, we quickly sent a few Pay It Forward cards to Kyla and Kelly.  We LOVE the idea of giving on behalf of someone, especially when it provides an example to others of the true generosity behind gift giving.

Its about LoveTo Kyla and Kelly – thank you for allowing us to share your email and we are so very grateful for your kindness of thought and generosity of spirit in the creative way you wish to make a difference in the world.  We look forward to hearing about how your relatives have used their Pay It Forward cards.  🙂

To all of you reading this blog today.  If you are able … we challenge you to “give” this holiday season – in any way you see fit … to a cause that is near and dear to your heart.  And whatever the gift may be … time, money, items, etc … ensure it is given with lots of love.

Happy Holidays everyone!!

Chase Made A Difference . . . Will You?
