Thankful Thursday: Yorkton New Holland Becomes a Major Sponsor of the Chase Kraynick “Pay it Forward” Splash Park

We are eager to begin the construction of the Chase Kraynick “Pay it Forward” Splash park this spring and also to continue promoting the “Pay it Forward” concept that Chase embraced whole heartedly.  This splash park has not only brought our community together in unimaginable ways, but has gained the financial support of several individuals and businesses that are making this project a reality.

tractorAs most of you know, each component of the splash park reflects the things that Chase loved which include sports, the great outdoors and of course, farming!  We wanted a New Holland Tractor to be the centre piece of the splash pad not only because Chase’s favourite colour was blue, but because New Holland was his absolute favourite make of farm equipment.  He would spend countless hours playing farming with Cooper and every toy that filled his toy box was either blue or yellow in colour.  When he wasn’t pretending to farm with Cooper, he was asking to go to the farm and help his dad with chores.

NHpicsThe apple didn’t fall far from the tree either 🙂 .  Our farm has always had a love for New Holland, so loving the brand was something that Chase grew up with.  Nearly every piece of equipment on our farm is New Holland.

Just recently,  Brad Guenther, manager of Yorkton New Holland, announced that their dealership will donate $10,000 towards the Splash Pad as a sponsor of the New Holland tractor splash component!

WOW!!  How awesome is that?  We are so grateful for their very generous contribution and our heartfelt thanks goes out to the entire management and staff for supporting our project and showing how much you care!

The Yorkton New Holland dealership holds true to their statement that “they are big enough to help you, but small enough to know you!”  So thank you so much for making a difference and paying it forward for our family and our community!

Thankful Thursday – We are PROUD to be from Canora!

skatesThe Canora Skating club showed they were ready for some warmer weather when they presented a “Totally Tropical” theme for this year’s ice carnival on March 10, 2013. Along with many other organizations within Canora they wanted to support the splash park in any way they could.  So they decided to set up a silver collection at the door the day of the carnival.  By the end of the day, a very generous donation of $450.00 was made to the Town of Canora for the building of the splash park.

soccerEven back in the fall of 2012, the Canora Soccer Club showed up to our “Pumpkins in the Park” fundraiser to present us with a cheque for $1000.00 which was money the club collected from the families that made up the soccer club.

I really don’t have the words to express how appreciative we are of you all.  We are very humbled by the generosity of these clubs and the families that make them up.  It is the commitment and dedication of the members that make that make these clubs so vibrant, but it is your support and compassion that truly makes a difference.

Money aside, we are very touched by how everyone is supporting our efforts in building a splash park in memory of Chase.  Every single parent in these two clubs understands the gift of children and the pleasure they bring to our lives.  They are also families that are dedicated to making a positive difference in the community they live and to support one another when times are tough.  Please know that the power of kindness you’ve demonstrated is very much appreciated and we are proud to call Canora our home.

With Sincere Gratitude,

The Kraynick Family

Thankful Thursday – Finding a Way to Give … Canora’s Wheatland Lioness Club

“It’s not how much we give but how much love that we put into giving.”

“Some people give time, some money, some their skills and connections, some literally give their life’s blood. But everyone has something to give.”

“You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”

Above are some of my favourite quotes about giving.  They speak to the essence of all that the idea of “Pay It Forward” stands for. We have recently been reminded of another way to give back to the community you live in.  Quite simply it is by joining a service group like your local Lioness/Lions group.

Who are the Lioness/Lions?

Lioness/Lions are global minded men & women who donate their time & talent
for their community to make the world a better place to live.

What do they do?

Put simply, Lioness/Lions serve.  Lions and Lionesses perform critical volunteer work in the communities they live in.  The single most important characteristic of a club volunteer is a willingness to help others.  They are committed to volunteer and pitch in with resources wherever they are needed. They serve in hospitals, senior centers, schools and eyeglass recycling centers.  They are also doing community volunteer work, helping, leading, planning and supporting.

Here are just a few of the many opportunities to do volunteer community work when you join the Lions:

  • Working with the blind and visually impaired
  • Community projects
  • Group volunteer opportunities
  • Become a host family
  • Community disaster preparedness
  • Diabetes awareness
  • Global health programs

How can I get involved?

Why Are We Highlighting this GREAT Group of People?

Just recently the Canora Lioness Group donated $500.00 to the Chase Kraynick “Pay it Forward” Splash Park in Canora.  Thank you so much for your generosity and for helping us make a difference for the families in the community.

Thankful Thursday – Royal Honda Makes A Difference

Honda Cheque
Terry Ortynsky and Lynn Walker from Royal Honda presenting a cheque to the Chase Kraynick Pay it Forward Splash Park

How do you define the Honda difference? Is it dependability? Quality?  Reliability? Or all those hard working employees in Yorkton that make a difference in the communities they live in?????  Well, it’s all of those things, and so much more!!!!

Yorkton’s Royal Honda wanted to find a way to “Pay it Forward” and support the Chase Kraynick Splash Park in Canora.  So they decided to advertise a “Pay it Forward” car sale and donate $100.00 from every new and used vehicle sold in the month of January to this project.

Every owner of a new and used vehicle received one of Chase’s Pay it Forward Cards and were asked to do a random act of kindness or generosity for someone else.  In turn, the dealership promised to work hard to sell as many cars in the month of January.  On February 22, 2013 the management and staff presented us with a cheque for $1500.00!!!  HOW FANTASTIC IS THAT???

We are so very thankful for their generosity and want to sincerely thank all their hard working staff for each and every sale made!  Our family is so grateful to the entire for deciding to support the concept that Chase so deeply believed in and for making a difference in our community.  With our deepest and most heartfelt appreciation…Thank you!

Thankful Thursday – Lia Sophia For The Park

What makes someone a terrific sales person? Well … my answer would be:

  1. They need to have great “people” skills or customer service skills,
  2. They understand the product their selling (and believe in it),  but most of all
  3. They need to show they care!

So, if I were to nominate an individual in this category, it would be none other than Candace Ochitwa!  Candace is a Lia Sophia advisor based out of Warmen, SK.

Candace loves people and of course jewelry!  She decided to host a Lia Sophia party in Yorkton on December 5, 2012 as a fundraiser for the Chase Kraynick “Pay it Forward” Splash Park.  Unfortunately, that night turned out to be one of the most blustery and stormy nights in Saskatchewan. None the less, Candace continued on with the night and did a “bling up job” of showcasing what Lia Sophia offered!  Jewelery CHest

It was the ONLY jewelry party that I’ve ever been to that had EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF JEWELRY THEY SOLD … ON DISPLAY!!!!   She took the initiative to not only help organize a party but she decided to donate all her commission to the Chase Kraynick “Pay it Forward” Splash park! It didn’t stop there either…

Candace raffled off 5 door prizes for all who attended, which included two beautiful stand up jewelry boxes with mirrors, a Keurig coffee maker, a jewelry stand and a luggage bag.

The entire evening brought in just under $2500 for the Chase Kraynick Pay it Forward Splash Park!!!  How incredible is that??

Candace was also gracious enough to make us coffee mugs, fridge magnets and a huge canvas banner advertising the Pay it Forward Park!

Thank you so much for all the effort you put into the fundraiser and your immense generosity!  You are an amazing woman and we are so thankful for all your efforts in supporting the splash park!

To check out Lia Sophia’s spring line or to book a party, please email Candace at or visit their website at

Thankful Thursday – Pay It Forward Pizza

Gabano’s Pizza is known for their “Big Slice Pizza” and is home to the most mouth watering pizza and subs in Canora.  Gabby and Tanya are the owner/operators of Gabano’s pizza in Canora and have been strong supporters of the Chase Kraynick “Pay it Forward” Splash park.

On October 22, 2012 they ran their very first “Pay it Forward Pizza Day”.

Here’s what Tanya had shared with us:

We only had the privilege of knowing Chase for a short time but it felt
like we knew him longer.  Chase went to daycare with our youngest son
Michael and every time we would walk in to pick Michael up, Chase and his
little brother Cooper would run up to us with a big smile on their faces and
start talking to us like we where best buddies… was so cute! Chase was
so friendly and loving with a beautiful little soul!!!!!!
Both myself and Gabby wanted to do something to “Pay it Forward” so we
decided to pick one day out of each month to give half of all the proceeds
of every slice sold that day to Chase’s splash Park. We will do this until
the project begins!!!

Our next day to “Pay it Forward Pizza” Day will be November 29, 2012.

If  you want to order up a delicious meal, look no further…Gabano’s pizza is your answer.  Stop by Gabano’s on main street or call in your order today at 563-6464.

Thank you to Gabano’s Pizza in Canora for making a difference.
